This beer is brownred with a big, rocky head and it is very clear. Lots of lively carbonation

Smell is kind of soapy at first, I am beginning to doubt wether this glass doesn't have some soap on it. No, the bottle smells the same. There is a spicy, herbal smell and the yeast has produced some smells that can be described as estery and wood-like.

Taste is caramel with a bit too much of roast flavor and it has some maltbitterness. There is this yeast taste again with esters and wood. The mouthfeel is dry and slightly acidic, but very minor. Some of the soapy smell is coming through in the taste and is a really turndown for me. Overall there is not enough taste there to overrule this taste.

Appearance – Brownish red in colour with a rocky head
Smell – Smells like forest fruits in the bottle, Raspberry and Blackberry in particular but don’t let that fool you there is no taste of fruit at all! When it hits the glass this beer smells like a Christmas pudding or ginger cake
Taste – The taste is definitely dominated by the candy sugar. Any hints of woodland fruit are now gone and there is only sugar. Basically this one tastes like sugar water with rubbing alcohol throw in. Sorry but I am not a fan.
Mouthfeel – Dry and a little watery which I was not expecting as there was a lot of carbon in the glass.
Overall – Full of candy sugar to boost the yeast this sharp and yet somehow smooth beer lingers on the tongue and refuses to go away. Hard to drink much of this one it is not for a man who likes and mild one or a beer that does not taste like an overly sweet cake blended with alcohol and water. I’m not surprised they retired this one!
