Appearance is an opaque medium amber with a fair amount of fine white head. There's some particulate matter visible.

The smell is marmalade and pineapple. Sorta floral, too. I also get a little bit of what I can best describe as a powdered mix for some citrus drink. And celery.

The taste isn't nearly as complex as the smell. It's very malty and has a good deal of pine resin. The malt bring sweetness along with it, but I can't tie it to anything else. It's not bitter until the back end. In fairness, I suppose it might be a month or two past its prime.

Feel is a bit stickier than I'd like, but the carbonation is fairly well integrated. The dominant bitterness in the aftertaste is an issue for me.

 

 

Wonderful beer. Terrific aroma and aftertaste. This is one to seek out and try if your into IPA's.

 

 

This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a thirty seconds. Light lacing strung about the glass. The smell had a nice balanced blend of sweet citrus over top of a light grapefruit, fresh and bright with a light grassiness coming in and out. The taste was bittersweet thoroughly balancing a crisp light spice into the mix. A sweet to lightly spiced aftertaste leads to a decent balanced dry to wet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation hit appropriate for the style and for me. Nice bittersweet grapefruit harshness rolls over my tongue. Overall, I say this was a pretty good AIPA that I could have again.

 

 

 

The beer pours a hazy golden color with a rocky white head that lasts and eventually fades with excellent lacing. The aroma is good. It's got your typical pale ale malt aroma; pale and dextrin malts, but with a slight rye spiciness. The hop aroma is present and provides a nice bitterness and balance. The taste is great. It has a stiff bitterness up front that lingers in the finish. The malt bill is well balanced and offers up a mild rye character that plays off the hops. The mouthfeel is fine. It's a medium/full bodied beer with adequate/good carbonation. This is an excellent RIPA that's cheap and easily accessible. I could drink this beer on the regular for sure. Looks like an average IPA. Tastes same, with a hint of rye darkness. Smells of pine hops, citrus (which does not followbthough on taste), and rye. Fairly simple, but drinkable and not bad.
