Big thanks to UncleJazz for the bottle!

Pours black and opaque with a short, creamy beige head that falls quickish to a creamy collar with decent lacing. The nose is roasted malt, sweet vanilla, dark chocolate, bourbon. The taste follows and is starts with deep roasted grain, char, cocoa nibs, vanilla and light bourbon, with some bittering hops drying out the finish a bit. Medium high body with light carbonation, smooth round and highly drinkable. A nicely balanced BA RIS.

The 2016 version is aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon barrels.

L-Completely black with no light transferance. It pours a modest half centimeter mocha head. The head quickly recedes to a thin ring with a few islands. Lacing is modest and fleeting.
S- The first smell to hit the nose is the Bourbon. Dark Chocolate then makes its way to the forefront and intermingles with the bourbon.
T-Dark Chocolate is the dominant flavor, but is overtaken by the boozy bourbon from the barrels. Pretty much the opposite to the nose.
F- The beer is thick, and viscous with modest amount of carbonation. The beer coats the tongue and really hits you with the bourbon.
O- A pretty good barrel aged RIS. I'd consider it a notch below the best in the style, but its a pretty good representation. If your not a bourbon fan you should probably stick to the non barrel aged version.
