12 oz can from a mixed 12 pack in Vermont.
This copper colored ale is bold for the style with generous amounts of both hops and malts. The bitterness seems a bit higher than average despite some perceptible malty sweetness.

Poured by hand from two twelve ounce cans, into a clear glass liter mug all the contents went. There's a foamy almost stark white head on top of a dark golden-amber. Although on the bright side, it's rather opaque. Mostly hops, closest to the piney sort, hit the nose, softly. The foam recedes unevenly, leaving some irregular glass lacing. To taste, there's a nice honey-sweet/hoppy bitterness up to the finish. Then the hops, earthy, then piney as they are, transition to sharp and dry. So, it's balanced whilst drinking and has a bitter finish; basically, what a good IPA should bring. Its body is not more than average for the style. Good enough to deliver the tastes, but not rich and smooth enough for any extra notice. Because of the finish, this one is for those that like a nice hoppy bite.

The malt balance is bold and very old school. The Simcoe, Centennial and Chinook hops leave a very assertive earthy, piney and bitter bite. Pretty much true to form here. The pine and orange zest bitter crunch goes a long way to a grainy, crisp finish.

12 oz. Can ---- 2 Months Fresh
A: Cloudy amber color. Dirty water looking but bright. Two fingers of bubbly white head on an aggressive pour. Average head retention and lacing. Looks good.
S: Citrus and Pine. Fruity. Pungent. Sweeter as the beer warms.
T/M: Hops. Bitter. Pine. Citrus. More hops. Orange and mango. Starts to taste sweeter and danker. Aftertaste is bitterish and dry. A linger of blood orange or something fruity.
O: Very good IPA. Tastes and feels more west coast classic IPA with pine and bitter flavors. Some nice fruitiness. maybe could be better balanced. Another solid beer from Otter Creek.
Cheers!

Received this in a mix Otter Creek 12-pack (IPA Power Pack) - a great gift from my in-laws! Pours a hazy burnt orange with a pillowy foam that slowly dissipates into a thin lacing. Smell is very inviting with lots of pineapple, citrus, and pine. Taste follows the nose but with the pine a bit more pronounced. Well done, easy drinking IPA - and the can artwork is great nostalgia!

12oz can.
Pours hazy gold with a half inch head of white. Moderate retention and lacing. Piney and catty in the nose. Medium bodied with a crisp, almost tacky mouthfeel. Grapefruit and pine on the palate with a malty backbone and plenty of bitterness. Finishes dry and piney.
Nice west-coaster.
