It pours black with a tan head which dissiaptes moderately. has tan lacing.
The smell is malty, a bit sweet with just a hint of the hops. very inviting.
the taste was mildly malty at the start and definite hops lingering at the finish. A nice blend of the sweet and bitter.
A medium mouth feel.
My first Otter Creek and black ale. Very positive experience. wasn't sure what to expect, but was definitely satisfied. A rack of this will be on my shopping list.

64 oz brewery filled growler into several glasses.

Pours black with a finger of foamy mocha head. This retains with a rich finger that leaves sticky swathes of lacing hanging on the sides of the glass. The aroma is green, leafy, and floral in the nose, with a pleasant bit of peppery dankness present which gives this some kick. Roast and chocolate notes sit in the back of the nostrils but the hops mostly run the show here.

The taste has a moderate hop bite going on, with citrus peel and green earthy citrus leaving behind light lingering bitterness and spice. A smooth layer of roasted chocolate malts sit underneath the hops, with that cocoa sweetness from them starting to come out nicely as this warms. Coffee notes and leftover roast lightly hang in the finish with some dry bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with a pleasant creamy sweetness to it that moves those flavor along very nicely. No alcohol is detected here at all, helping greatly with the drinkibility as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to be given a sample of this during our visit to the brewery and I'm glad to this that my decision to grab a full growler of this was warranted. The hop profile was little more earthy and mellow here, allowing the dark malts to provide enough bitterness on their own, and the body on this just drank like a champ for the size. This was a good one from Otter Creek and beyond the Imperial Series, it's nice to see them continue getting a little more adventurous with their styles.

Thanks to Kegatron for sharing this growler.

A-Pours black with ruby highlights. Foamy black mocha head and lots of sticky lacing.

S-Leafy pine hops, very aromatic. A nice roasted malt character as well.

T-Roasted malt to start, then sweetness creeps in. A finish of nice bitter hops and good roastiness.

M-Creamy, medium bodied with good carbonation.

D-Delicious example of the style.

Dry hopped with Citra and Centennial hops.

Pours a dark, dark brown with a tan head into my glass

Aroma is full of grassiness and citrus notes with a slight roast.

Taste is bursting with grassy, citrusy hops with a good hint of breadiness from the malt. Slightly creamy as well with just a hint of toffee.

Mouthfeel is full of lingering toffee and citrus. If I must be literal, its like drinking a liquid pretzel.

Well done! Absolutely shows that Otter Creek can wow people with their creations.
