Note: Now titled The Chef's Wicked Chocolate Beer
Appearance - 3.0
Dark brown, almost black in colour with a beige head that faded fast.
Smell - 4.0
Slight milky, lactic sweetness along with milk chocolate and a little burnt, roastiness.
Taste - 4.0
Big maltiness upfront with flavours of milk chocolate, unsweetened cocoa, sweet biscuits and sooty, roasted bitterness for balance. Light hoppiness is there, but not a major character of the beer.
Mouthfeel - 4.0
Moderately carbonated and medium to full bodied, best to let it sit for a little to let the carbonation reduce.
Overall - 4.0
A very good chocolate beer that I would put right up with Youngs Double Chocolate Stout. This beer alone makes a visit to Bush Shack worthwhile.
