A special release for the AHA rally on 5/17. Everyone received free growlers and discounted fill ups. Pours a more lemony yellow color with great clarity. Decent head but limited retention and next to no lacing through out.
The nose is more on par with a German pilsner. Softer malt notes with noticeable German pilsner malt. Some soft honey undertones. Some sudsy notes. No yeast and no real hop nose but ok for style
The malt is toned down from the nose. The German pils malt is limited with more of a grainy almost husky taste. Bitterness comes out and balances the malty sweetness throughout and into the finish. Not much on flavoring hops but ok. Some lighter yeasty notes, green apples and few rose like esters but feint.
The body is light to moderate. Carbonation is a bit light but helps accent the malt. Overall not a bad beer at all.
