Green 33cl bottle, poured into a Hoegaarden Grand Cru stemmed tulip glass.
Looks like a lager/pilsner, bright, clear and golden, with a white head that doesn't hang around.
Very floral in the nose and initial taste. I believe Taa Kawa is 'Fruits of the forest' in the Maori tongue. The beer is flavoured with some native spice from the forests, hence the name.
It has a different and interesting taste to be honest, an 'indigeous ale' according to the bottle, but appears more of a lager/pilsner to my taste buds and eyes.
This is also the first beer from NZ I've reviewed on BA, had a few over the years, but not since joining this site.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
