This is the same for all the SIerra MAdre's, from my point of view there is an excessive number of the same company added in here, as well as Beer Factories. And I don't see the point of adding the same beers for every Bar from this brewery, it is the same beer!. Anyway, this plac eis a little boring, maybe the mood of people form monterrey is different but I sensed a little athmosphere like in the other side of the border, a little impersonal and dry. Good food, but a little fat. They have good decoartion but something is missing. I do not know what else to say, except that I insist the regulations for these places and their beers is not good in the site. It looks like they are taking it as a competition on who has tried mor ebeers, and that is not the point.

A very nice place to try when you are in Monterrey.
¡Salud!

One of the very very few places to brew their own in mexico, its the only one in Monterrey city.
This place is intended for the upper/middle class of monterrey, you will fin snobs in there. But the place is very nice, you can see the brewing tanks on one side, a bar area, and tables for the restaurant. I can also say its comfortable, some seats are nice and cosy lol.
They have a few brews (15), but they show more frequently the Chipinque(red ale), fraile (porter), cañon del huajuco (bock) and at all times the Regio (lager). I find all beers at least nice, i really like the Chipinque.
The food is ok, offers salads, steaks, pizza, etc... as a american style restaurant, lots of choices, but not exeptional. Very good service.
I say reasonable price, because i can find a beer for 30 pesos (3 dll)... that is the same price i pay for a decent beer in a local supermarket here in monterrey.
Good place, i will definitely visit the place again.

There are five branches of this brewpub in my city, Monterrey, fairly distributed in all the metro area.
Accordingy to their name, Sierra Madre, their beers are named after some local mountains or ranges: La Silla Pale Ale, Cañón del Huajuco Bock, Cañón del Cobre Scottish Ale, El Fraile Porter, Matacanes Brown Ale, Chipinque Red Ale, etc.
Granted, not all their beers are exceptional, but these are the only brewpubs in town and I'm pretty sure that you might find a brew that'll suit your taste.
Although they brew some 15 styles, they only have on tap 5 to 6 at the time, with two season specialities: an Oktobertfestbier, naturally in October, and a Strong Ale in December called Navidad (Christmas).
Most of the waiters have some beer training and know a bit on their brews and alcohol content. But not very much.
A useful tip if you happen to go to one of these venues: Tell your waiter/waitress that you want your beer in a non frozen glass.
The beer availability reflexes current Mexican taste: Their top selling beers are on the lighter, milder side of styles and renditions. But you can always find at least two good ones.
Two of the branches, located near the financial sector of the city, can have some uppity-yuppie kind of patrons and atmosphere, the rest of them receive middle-rank white collar employees.
Of course, with a good presence of families. I take my wife and daughters at least once a month.
Decoration is a mix of American chain restaurant, with booths, tables with armchairs and a bar area with tall stools and little disco-like tables.
Food is, again, a mix of American and International cuisine: Meats, seafood and salads. Burgers are very good; pizzas are quite decent also.
Prices are quite reasonable, especially if you compare them with American restaurants and brewpubs.
A pint costs some 3 USD, so go figure.
