Recently two main players came out with their commercial IPAs in Hungary: Soproni and Pécsi. Soproni had a huge success with their IPA on the market for the common people, guess their APA will also sell well - even though it is not really what you would call an American Pale Ale.
However, Pécsi made something much more intersting! Something much closer to a real pale ale! Looks really rich and amber, smells quite fruity and it sustains this pleasant character all the way - I would say a well balanced brew, could easily be the best commercial beer made in Hungary! Slight bitterness follows the tropical fruity flavor and there is no trace of the "homebrew"-like, slightly amateur taste that prevails in Soproni.
I am very pleased with this beer and quite fond of it - Hungarian big beer comanies CAN make something remarkable - although not a Sierra PA, but something really pleasant and good quality to drink! Congrats to Pécsi Sörfőzde! Way to go!
