Giving this a more thorough review after the group share. From the can the pour is as expected, clear with a bright white foam. The nose is all right, nothing special or off putting. Where things fall apart is on the sip, with a lightly astringent character that does it no favors.

Bottle 0.33L.
Clear deep golden body with a large, frothy, white head, mostly lasting with some nice lacing; high density of average-sized particles.
Moderate malty (cereal, bread) and light-to-moderate yeasty aroma with light notes of fruits (apricot).
Light-to-moderate sweet and bitter flavour; short balanced finish with light “diluted” feeling.
Light-to-medium body with watery texture; average carbonation.

The style is meh, nothing offensive here, easy to drink, but nothing to get excited over.

I like this tall boy lager- reminds me of brews I sampled overseas. Bought a case on H Head Island; good thru 6/11/25. Hungary has a bready winner here!

Smells like bread, tastes like bread soaked in caramel - what is this? Would really love to know because they claim it to be a Helles… is it not a (Euro) pale lager rather?
But the thing that bothers me the most is that for such a title (1848) they could have made something that pays respect to the Hungarian Revolution much better… This one instead was a disappointment, nothing more.
