A: Dark mahogany-brown color. Poured a 1 finger tan head with fair retention. Laced in thin sheets.
S: Bitter chocolate, roasted nuts and molasses. Hop character is well in the background.
T: Consistent with smell; maybe a little dry maple wet wood. Hope character comes through a bit as well.
M: Light body like a porter should be, but, at the same time, smooth. Low carbonation.
D: Very drinkable beer. Flavorful, balanced and true to the style.

A staple of mine, when I goto the Gunnison Brewery. A flagship beer of tiers.
Served into a pint glass, from a pitcher.
A= Look in' good, just as always, a nice foamy head, with Carmel hue, a midnight black porter.
S= Smell is not over powering, but has a nice toffee hint.
T= The taste is what keeps you coming back, a nice chocolate and coffee tastes
M= good silky mouthfeel.
D= This is the most drinkable beer at the Gunnison Brewery... IMO.
Overall= This is a porter to travel for. But call and check to make sure it is on tap. If not look for others such as Evil Rabbit or their IPA.

Had this beer on tap at the brew-pub on Jun 19, 2008. $2.75 for a properly drawn beer (WITH a head!) during happy hour (4:00 to 6:00). Regular price is $3.75.
One-and-a-half finger off-white head that fades to a solid ring leaving moderate lacing, over a dark garnet-mahogany body.
Smell is dark chocolate, molasses, a note of maple syrup, plenty of burned sugar, and some spicey floral hops.
Taste is exactly like the smell, except a little less sweet and a little more floral and bittering hops. Very nice taste.
Mouthfeel is smooth, but a little bit thin for a porter.
Drinkability would be better except for the somewhat thin mouthfeel. Great price during happy hour!
If you go to Gunnison, stop in this place. Very easy to find on North Main St.
