A 500ml bottle with a BB of Jan 2015, so it's just out of date. Purchased a while back from a supermarket.

A: Poured into a straight pint glass. A clear coppery-orange hue with faint sediment and plentiful carbonation. Yields a large head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before reducing to a patchy surface layer.

S: Aroma of grainy caramel malt with hints of biscuits, barley sugar, fruity ale yeast, mild grass/hay and a touch of stewed hops. Uninspired.

T: Tastes of caramel malt with a subdued bitter finish. Notes of toasted grain, biscuits, vague nuttiness, fruity ale yeast, grass/hay and stewed leaves. Well-attenuated, followed by a restrained, leafy bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with lively carbonation and decent body. Perhaps a shade too fizzy. Somewhat astringent, accompanied by an aftertaste of toasted grain, caramel malt, ale yeast and stewed leaves.

O: OK but tends towards dullness. Average looks, while the aroma and flavour are a balanced mix of grainy caramel malt, ale yeast and mild grassy hops. Body is alright. Drinkable but doesn't make me hanker for more. Perhaps this is better on cask; at any rate no need to hunt it down.

Chestnut brown clear body with mere traces of white head

Not much for the nose toffee apple and copper coins.

The taste factor s where this beer drives it's lance home
just the nice balance of digestive biscuit malt with slight citrus fruit hops finishing with a peppery yeast finish

Slightly thin and slightly too fizzy

quite a nice understated bottle of bitter.

Cask. Clear. Medium light amber. Thin but tight head.
Smells of English hops, green grass with some malt.
Earthy flavour. Light caramel and straw.
Decent hand pulled feel. A tad undercarbonated.
Quite a straightforward yet traditional English bitter.

Tawny coloured body, off-white head: this was beer number 4 (all halves) at a beerfest in The George Inn, Eccleshall (April 2012).

Gravity poured straight out the barrel: some hop smells but not a lot of anything in the nose really.

Nicely balanced taste, the malts blend in well with the hop content and a mixed bag of summer fruits appear in the flavour: easy to drink and although it doesn’t really test your tastebuds too greatly it is a fine bitter.

This beer pours a burnt copper colour with average carbonation that leaves a one finger subtle head that leaves a little lacing down the glass,it has very sweet fruity hoppy aromas which dominate the nose,on taste it has nice biscuty, caramel flavours with a little fruity edge that clash beautifully on the pallete with a nice mouthfeel for the style, not a bad drop that i will buy again.
