On tap at Shoreline Brewery and served in a snifter. This barley wine poured a dark, muddy brown with a thin, lasting beige head. Some nice lacing was left behind. The aroma of the beer was made up of caramel, dark fruits, and a touch of alcohol. The flavor consisted of burnt caramel, ripe dark fruits, a hint of chocolate, and a mild alcohol note. The mouthfeel was full-bodied with light carbonation. The palate feels a bit thin, but this was still a nicely done barley wine.

Served in a snifter at Shoreline 1/7/08. thanks to HeatherAnn for the assist!
A: Served a nice looking dark, carmel-y brown. Served with no head, but with a choppy skim that left spotty lace.
S: Aromas of sweet caramel, grape, and grains (barley).
T: Sweet, fruity, and malty caramel with a healthy dose of hops.
M: Bitter, oily, and drying. The stickyness of this ensures that the finish will last for a long time.
D: Another highly drinkable, big abv beer from Shoreline!
