Draft at brewpub.
Poured black hue with a medium creamy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Good smokey, chocolate toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted bittersweet flavor of chocolate and smoke with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration.
This is a standout for this house.

Appearance: Pours a dark brown body with a small light beige head.
Smell: Aroma of baker's chocolate, dark malts, and a bag of black licorice.
Taste: Dark chocolate with a taste of dark, roasted grains and licorice. Mild caramel sweetness. No more than a faint hint of smoke character. A mild, earthy bitterness perks up and holds until the finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: A fine, lightly smoked porter. Quite respectable.
