Pours a golden with a slight amber color. A small head forms and dissipates quickly to the glasses edge.
The aroma is malty, fresh grains, an slight earthiness
A clean tasting beer malt upfront with a slight sour but only slight. The end is a grainy flavor, a mix of pale malt and earthy oaks. All the flavors come through but are very muted.
The mouth is very smooth no harsh carbonation...almost no feeling at all.

Had on tap at the Brewpub last night.
A- Pours a golden amber color..there are almost two different colors in this beer one on top of the other. Light white bubbles on the top of the beer although there is no lacing at all.
S- Light grains and some oak in there. Very muted in the nose. Interesting because I figured there would be a little more wine light notes. Some light vinegar notes when the beer warms up more.
T- Big time wine notes in the front. Light vinegar like flavor that a lot of sours have but very muted unlike sours. Some light grain comes out once this warms. Oaky flavors come in the backend of the beer. There is not a lot of beer qualites to this brew which I expected since it was barreled in Syrah barrels.
M- Medium-heavy mouthfeel. Carbonation was very light which worked well with this beer. Light syrah and oak left on the palate. Aftertaste had light alcohol and barrel notes. Alcohol was light drying on the palate. Clean flavors overall for what the beer was. Flavors although muted were blended well for the beer.
D- This beer was very drinkable because of the muted flavors. This wasn't a bad thing and it worked well for the beer. Here is one for the wine drinkers of course. I will say this though...not as good as their Foggy Loggy lager aged in chardonnay barrels.
