The beer is a slightly hazy cinnamon gold, topped with the typical creamy nitro head that won't quit. Very nice cascade upon arrival, settling into the aforementioned tawny color. As to be expected, great head retention and lots of sticky lace, leaving drink rings down the pint.
The aroma is quite bold, given the nitro pour. Considerable cascade hoppiness providing a bold rind-like citric hoppiness. Fairly high on the grapefruit scale, with a touch of lemon and estery apple. A soft underlying caramel maltiness barely carries through the fresh hops, although it remains well balanced. Very much like smelling some whole leaf cascades still on the vine.
The flavor starts out with a soft, yet solid toasty maltiness. Very clean flavor, just a touch of estery apple fruitiness and a bit of lemon just before the hops kick in. Excellent hopping, very clean and flavorful. Amazing for a single hop ale, with some nuance to the hops. A grapefruity citrus flavor dominates, but you pick up a bit of pine and herbal flavor as well. Some bitter orange peel right in the end, with just a touch of yeast sweetness. Perfect balance, with considerable hop flavor but lacking a bitter edge to it. Very bold and flavorful for a nitro pour. Smooth and creamy mouthfeel, full bodied with tingly nitrogen carbonation.
No detectable tinniness, as I commonly experience with nitro beers. I thought this was very similar to something in between Sierra Nevada's pale and celebration ales. Nice and hoppy, although I'm not sure if I'd call this an IPA. I assumed it was an american pale ale. I'd really like to try a cask version of this recipe, to get the full experience out of the flavor. It's probably quite tasty if I enjoyed the nitro this much.

An interesting beer. It starts with a fairly potent aroma of piney hops. It pours a hazy copper color. There is the tight, white head that you get with nitro beers. I don't know if it "settled", as it was probably poured a few minutes prior to it getting to my table. There was a fairly up-front taste of the hops. There was a creaminess that you don't usually associate with an IPA. An interesting and good take on an IPA.
