Had this at the LI location. they were calling it Thundersnow Strong Ale. Served in a 10oz snifter, this was a dark chestnut with ruby highlights. No head to speak of. Aroma was strong, fruity and powerful alcohol. Taste had port wine qualities, very sweet with fruit, cherry and prune. finished with some serious alcohol afterburn.
An excellent barlywine, this one clocked in at 13% ABV. The alcohol in the finish seemed even stronger than that. Definitely could use some time to mellow.
