This was my first brew at a John Harvard's. As it was served, I saw it had a nice bubbley head to it, it would disapate as it hit my beard. Smelled good and rich, some hops made it to my nose. Very discrete though.
The first taste was ok, there was something off though. The Red that I was expecting, seemed to have a metallic flavor to it. The Red was overly sweet as well, giving it a very pungent flavor. It soured my taste a little. And the finish was unsatisfying. It seemed as though the taps needed to be cleaned on this one.
Was not a huge fan of this, however my other brews were fine at John Harvard's.

Sample at the Pittsburgh location. This brew is a reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head that lingers for awhile. Thin, spotty lacing. The aroma is mostly malty with a touch of hops. Medium-bodied with a rich malty flavor throughout. Light hops and fruit show up as well. The finish is on the sweet side but has enough hops to keep the tongue interested. Pretty solid overall.

Presented on tap at JHBH in Monroeville, PA

Appearance: Clear golden color, lots of bubbles visible. Head is thin to absent. Lacing is minimal.

Smell: Thin malty sweet smell. Aromas at first were very subdued, but tended to get better as the beer warmed a bit.

Taste: At first, when this beer was cold from the tap, the taste was thin, sweet, with no hop taste to be found. As the beer warmed, however, the sweetness actually decreased a bit as the hops became more pronounced. Let this beer warm slightly before tasting it.

Mouthfeel: Carbonation was surprisingly well done considering the amount of bubbles that could be seen in the beer. Feel was crisp and semi-dry without any real aftertaste or finish.

Drinkability: Much better as it warms, when cold this beer is alarmingly similar to a (gasp) macro. Alcohol is very well masked, this would be a fantastic session beer if it were served warmer. As it is served, though, its a moderate offering at best.
