My first cask conditioned lager, appears caramel amber hued with a cream colored head leaves fine even streaks of lacing. Aromatics contain evident alcohol and fruit notes decidely applish and pear from the barley malts with a decent German herbal hop bite in the finish. Taste flows nicely together a creamy seductive bock ehanced by the serving style even further honey tinged creaminess with underly fruits pear and apple finishes a tad alcoholic nice balance incredibly smooth flavor. Mouthfeel is medium body low airy natural carbonation so smooth on the palate another dangerous brew. Drinkability oh so sessionable like many cask brews nice to try a lager rather the typical hoppy ale.

I believe this is the "Brimstone Red Bock". This was the cask offering on my last visit and I was pretty surprised to find a lager on cask.
Pours a dark red topped with a one finger creamy tan head. Leaves puffy partial bands of lacing. The clearest beer I've seen off a cask.
Sweet and floral aroma, with a good backbone of caramel and roasty malt.
Toasted malt, apple, berry, floral, caramel and herb notes in the taste.
Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel.

Inoculated myself with this one on 6/11/2004 at the Cambridge location. After getting thoroughly admonished for writing this up as a review for the wrong bock, I am now posting it in its correct spot.
Dribbled into a 16-ounce shaker glass. Creamy, almost stout-like head to start, which quickly disappeared entirely, though there was plenty of carb action going on throughout the glass. Dark, dark ruby in color – I had expected it to be a bit lighter in hue. Malty sweetness was the overriding bouquet. On taste, the malt was undeniable, and was the first thing I noticed, and then a subtle hoppiness developed in the wings. I would describe the mouthfeel of this one as a grotto; a solid, round outer wall that hides a lake of calm with nary a ripple on it. Not sure I would want to consume too many of these during a session as the outer edges claimed all of my taste buds.

Sampled on tap at the Harvard Square location.
This bock poured a clear, dark, coffee-brown color with notes of red, with light tan foam that settled flat. The smell was a mild, sweet malty aroma which improved a bit with warming. The taste was lightly sweet and malty with notes of caramel and chocolate and a touch of Munich malt as the beer warmed. The mouthfeel was smooth and creamy with medium body and low carbonation. Flavors of caramel and cocoa lingered. This was a decent beer, though not a very robust bock in terms of flavor.

Hmm..I didn't see any previous entries that listed a plain bock, so I added this one. If it has to be moved somewhere, that's ok. Beer came in a pint glass, no head, the color of coke. I picked up a dark malt aroma. I thought the medium+ mouthfeel was a nice change. The thick malt backbone was predominant until it hit crisp hop juiciness in the finish. Altogether, not that bad.
