Swam in an ocean of high fructose corn syrup with this one on 12/14/2004. Cask pour right at the source.
Bartender said this was a spice ale that had some pumpkin and molasses in it. Couldnt tell me what the abv was. Kind of an identity crisis head of huge froth in spots and a light, clinging sheen in others. Dark, ruby hue with brown tones and just barely transparent when held up to a light source. Nutmeg and cloves seemed to waft a good six inches away from the pour, and an underlying sweetness powers through as well upon closer inspection. A spicy, holiday medley of the aforementioned nose gay and a deep hit of molasses, brown sugar, pumpkin, and roasted pecans to coalesce in this punchy ale. Creamy mouthfeel to start, followed by a spice tang that stays. Very nice holiday offering.
