Sampled in a snifter today with lunch at the pub. The beer arrives solid black with a sturdy tan creamy head floating on the surface. Aroma is rich chocolate and coffee mixing with a faint piney and citrusy hop profile. Smells of roasted malt also abound. First sip reveals a soft creamy texture and mild rolling carbonation. Flavor starts sweet with chocolate and raisins flowing to an all malt backbone of coffee and caramel finishes very roasty and smooth. Very easy to drink considering the ABV. No hint of alcohol even after the brew hits my belly.
Quite nice, get it while on cask for sure!
