Clear and deep amber, this beer fell just short of being chestnut in colour. The solid, light beige cap showed good retention and formed some sticky lacing. The nose was very mild, with fruity and floral notes. Solid malty flavour with some caramel. Mild to moderate bitterness with earthy and floral hops rounding out the finish. It seemed to have an English yeast character, with some fruity esters present. Nice balance. Medium/light body and carbonation with a hint of dryness. This one hit the right notes for an English bitter, making it a tasty pint. I bet it would be delicious on cask too.

On-tap in Cambridge.
Appearance: clear amber in color with a 1" head that falls immediately to a surface foam. No significant lacing.
Smell: caramel is all I could pick up by the nose.
Taste: caramel, soft bitterness, plum sweetness, and slightly bready.
Mouthfeel: very smooth from start to finish. Relatively clean aftertaste. Light-medium in body.
Drinkability: this is a clear session beer that you can drink all day long. Worth having if available.

A - Mildly hazed amber with a thin off white lace ... good stickage.
S - Berry fruitiness, herbal woody hop oil and a light toasted malt.
T/M - Solid toasted biscuit malt, balanced hop bitterness. Fruity ... strawberries? Musty yeast and diacetyl in the middle. Hint of nutty yeast and a dry woody herbal hop flavor in the finish. Very creamy on the palate.
Notes - Easy to suck down, yes this is a session brew. It definitely reminded me of a traditional bitter on cask.
