St. Drogo arrives with an off-white head, small bubbles are closely packed, resting atop a durty penny colored ale. There is minimal lacing as the glass is emptied. St. Drogo smells of dark fruits, such as raisins and plums, and there is some yeastiness as well. The first mouthful delivers these same fruits up front, with a nice and slight yeastiness in the finish. Modest hops are present, but stay off to the sides, leaving the fruit and Belgian yeast front and center. Relatively light bodied with a smooth mouthfeel, this is highly drinkable. The alcohol is deceiving, so be forewarned.
