This beer came in a flute and it was a dark cherry color that faded to amber. The tall, frothy, slightly tan head stuck around until the end.
Smells of overly dry oak, dusty sand, vanilla, red delicious apples and a slight sweet molasses barley.
Tastes of an easy, sweet, grainy barley with some creamy vanilla, and a smoky maple syrup. I also want to say that theres a slight whisky coming through, but I may be reading into it. The flavor then takes a slight nose dive towards sour, but is caught by a sharp sappy oak. Finishes very clean.
The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with an easy bare minimum of carbonation that adds a pleasant feel.
This ones really nice. Its extremely drinkable and the flavors are exquisite.

I absolutely fell head over heels for this beer. In my mind it was the beer of the night. This beer is a special offering of "A Doppelbock Named Sue" that has been aged in a Bourbon Barrel for three months.
Appearance: served a dark mahogany brown with hint of deep red and a creamy head that has great retention.
Smell: It has a molasses musk aroma with a hint of apple, brown sugar and a significant suggestion of wood and bourbon barrel & vanilla.
Taste: This beer was super smooth and creamy with a molasses and leather flavor with sweet and sugars, hint of cinnamon & suggestion of bourbon then most interestingly a subtle black licorice character shows up in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: Fantastically smooth and easy across the palate.
Drinkability: This beer is absolutely divine. The easy smooth flavor and feel is one I could enjoy all night.
Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!

1L swing-top bottle obtained via trade with hopdog. Thanks for the opportunity... Bottle #36 of "less than 50". Brew date October 05, Batch #748, OG 19.5.
Poured into a Rapscallion glass, formed a light uneven 1/4" head over the clear bright garnet brew. Head faeds down just a few airy bubbles around the edge, with some areas of no film at all, with minimal lacing, as you would expect from a barrel-aged brew. Aroma is boozy, but with a hearty undercurrent of malt sweetness. Taste is sweet deep grains upfront, with lots of vanilla and oak notes, with a warming bourbon-tinged close. Mouthfeel is sweet and pleasing, and drinkability is a tad bit harsh, but you shouldn't be drinking a bunch of this in a sitting anyways. A cool treat.

On Cask, after my trip to BeerYard. Also, I picked up a few bottles of this (less than 50 were bottled).
Pour - nice light brown/copper with no head at all.
Smell - bourbon! What a novel idea for the name. Really nice light bourbon smell with vanilla, caramel and medium spices to lift your head.
Taste - Great, absolutely great. Incredibly easy to drink, yet alcohol not present despite the HUGE bourbon taste. Very interesting (especially towards the end) as it does not change consistency, nor get old.
Absolutely pick this up, they are out currently unless you get their liter bottles of it. The liter bottle is a bit pricey, especially if you are not in the area to reuse the bottle (for refills), but I got a few anyway.
I await my next refill of their next special brew, and will make sure to bring a liter or two back of the new one.
Absolutely a must try for bourbon fans out there, great beer, what a great way to end my trip out to PA for that Friday.
Cheers.

Appears a mahogany color with a creamy beige head that lasts.
Smell...OMFG! Complex bourbon oak aged doppelbock with vanilla, oak, warm doughy bread.
Taste is of creamy vanilla, caramel, nuts, dark fruit, a hint of molasses syrup buried in the background...Great!
Mouthfeel is super smooth with just the right amount of bourbon barrel aging.
Drinkability...John Rehm aged a f'ing doppelbock in bourbon oak barrels for 3 months. Why haven't more breweries done this? I want a keg of this bad boy!
