This beer came in a tulip glass and it was a dark, glowing strawberry that faded to amber near the edges. It had a thin white collar of head that left a few droopy lines of lace.

Smells of sweet gooey barley, red licorice, red grapes and a slight bit of garden flowers with a hint of musky Play-Doh.

Tastes of sweet red grapes and a pure, wholesome, sweet barley with just the slightest touch of milk chocolate at the end. In the finish, there’s a refreshing sting that’s brought on by a masterfully blended light woody hop and alcohol.

The mouthfeel is medium boded and silky clean with a slight, tiny-bubbled carbonation.

This one’s really amazing. There are a lot of a-typical flavors at work here that make this beer unique and delicious.

Appears a dense, dark amber with a small, foamy, off white cap. Tons of spotty lacing is left around the glass.
Smell is of luscious caramel, aged cherries, and raisins, along with aromas of dough, brown sugar, and oak.
Taste is of the aromas with a dried fruit, and aged toffee flavor coming together nicely.
Mouthfeel is sticky with caramelized brown sugar being the mainstay with this one.

This maybe one of the easiest drinking most pleasant Barley Wines that I have had in a while. Well done John Rehm!

Appearance: served a beautiful deep copper color with red hues. Little light passes through while sitting in the dimly lit JHBH booth.

Smell: Very enticing sweet syrupy aroma of tropical fruits. Kiwi and passion fruit with hints of caramel and barley.

Taste: Rich sweet dark sugar and wet barley dominate the flavor; with fruit undertones that compliment the sweet and tart of the barley grain flavor. This is not a hoppy BW at all. Personally, I like it that way.

Mouthfeel: The beer has a hearty viscosity and yet remains more clean than many in the style.

Drinkability: Exceptional. What 10.% ABV beer drinks like this. I may not know of one. Wow!

Hope this is helpful.
Cheers!
