Poured a deep brown hue with a one finger creamy off white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a rich burnt grain with a soft nuttiness.
The taste consisted of a robust burnt grain with elements of light and sweet coffee.
The mouthfeel was full and soft with a slightly dry finish.
Overall a very good stout. Easy to drink and JH's best beer to date.

Pours a thick jet black into the pint glass. Nice tan head atop, and good lacing around the glass. Aroma is nutty, roasted, and chocolaty.
The flavor is roasted grains, coffee beans, and chocolate. It really is a wonderfully full-flavored experience. It's never dull, and never bitter. Slightly nutty. Mouthfeel is creamy and thick. This is one of the btter beers at John Harvard's. I was pretty impressed.
