Poured @ the Cambridge location on 12/14/07.
Pours with a thinnish, choppy off-white head and a dark musty golden color to the body. The nose is of citrus and mellon, fruitiness for sure (perhaps a bit of pear?). The body is medium sized with a tractional, sturdy, and assertive mouthfeel. Very citric on contact; fresh squeezed lemon and some grapefruit puckering attributes. A good sandpaper-like hop traction reminds you who's boss. A good juicy mellon quality balances nicely and adds back to the drinkability. Two powerful contrasts going at one another. Similar to the mouthfeel, the finish is gritty and juicy rolled into one. Included are floral, grapefruit, citrus, and pear subtleties. Nicely done.
