pitcher poured into pint glass
near black, very deep amber color. three fingers or so of head that cascade down. smells malty and sweet.
very smooth, light body. lots of lacing on the glass. there are nice smokey, roasted chocolate flavors on this. the flavor is full but it is definitely not rich or too sweet. the roasted flavors tone down the sweetness to make it balanced and drinkable. it's a bit creamy, but the body is so light it seems minimal. i wish it was a bit thicker, but that's what you get with a 4.1% from a brew pub. still good and drinkable.
