Reviewed on 2/21/2010. On tap at the brewpub. Pours a deep tawny/amber with a light tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, a touch of diacetyl, and sweet fruits. Flavor of sweet caramel malt, light sweet tropical fruits, and Cascade hops. Very drinkable and tasty. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Poured a deep amber hue with a whispy white head (JH signature). There was little retention and lacing.

The smell featured a nutty malt with some caramel.

The taste was upfront malty, with some astringency and floral hop.

The mouthfeel was a bit toward the thinner side for the style.

Overall an uneventful amber.

A - Clear red 1/3 inch of tan foam with nice lacing

S - Somewhat fruity with a hint of floral hops.

T/M - Whoa. WTF. Big, big, up front bitterness. Astringent body with gigantic apple flavours. Also very dry. Undrinkable.

D - Unbalanced, and kind of gross. Apple-yness obliterates any other flavours. Mouthfeel is harsh. Flat out bad beer.
