Nose is mildly fruity - dary raisin, mild malty.
Served very, very dark brown with a mild head in a nice 5oz tulip.
Quite malty indeed. Bursting with chocolate, espresso, and sheer roasted malt. Good tartness - grape/raisin fruit. Mild alcohol heat is nice. Maple-like sweetness and medium-thick body. Mild carbonation. Sweet attack, dry alcohol finish.
Very good. I especialy like the alcohol heat against the thick sweet malty body. I'd definitely return to JH's some day.
