On tap at JH Framingham on Sat 2/20/10. This beer is a Jamaican style stout, named after Montego Bay, Jamaica. Served in a standard pint glass. Dark brown color. Small but noticeable sized head for a stout. Faint coffee smell. Taste was good but subdued. Notes of chocolate and roasted coffee, but laid back, a bit like the Jamaican lifestyle I guess. A very smooth stout, and easy to drink for an 8.1 % abv stout. A nice beer to start the night off.

A solidly dry stout in the style of Ireland's best. It is on the more burnt malt side of stouts; I think it most closely resembles Beamish. There is a strong black coffee feel to this one, meaning lots of black patent malt and roasted (unmalted) barley. The aftertaste is like the smell of coffee grounds. Good body.
Although the ABV is 7.1%, there is no hint of oiliness or alcohol warmth. An easy stout to enjoy.
