This IPA begins with copious amounts of rye malt. Then a few darker varieties are added to make it black. We then add a ton of hops to make it delicious. It is an outrageous blend of flavors that comes together seamlessly in this dark tasty ale.

On draft at the brewpub.
Poured a deep amber hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.
The smell featured a light caramel, rye spice and herbal hops.
The taste consisted of a raw upfront herbal character that lingered well past the finish. Burnt caramel and rye spice rounded out the flavor. A touch of smoke detected at the finish.
The mouthfeel was toward the thinner side of the style with a dry residual spiciness.
Overall a tasty herbal experience.
