Pernstejn pours a dark golden body beneath a short but creamy head of bright white. It falls shortly but leaves some nice lace throughout the subsequent sips.
The nose offers a combination of gently sweet, bready and toasty malt and herbal and floral hops.
In the mouth it's medium-bodied and gently crisp with a moderate carbonation.
The flavor offers exactly what the nose suggests... it's richly malty, a touch honeyish, and then bright with hops that are herbal, floral, and lightly spicy. A solid bitterness acts as the base, and it finishes short and dry with just a mild note of residual bready malt.
Quite a nice beer, especially if you enjoy a fuller, more malty pils.
