Purchased this 500ml bottled beer at the brewery in Bornholm and drank it in Ireland.
Poured a dark dark brown with a 1.5 finger head that disappeared after a couple of minutes and stayed fairly flat.
Smells of very nice chocolately hints with a bit of coffee aroma. Not too much malt and no hops present at all in smell.
Some toasty and roasted flavors but mostly chocolately flavors come through on the tongue upon tasting. Very smooth going down but there really isn't much else going on with this beer other than the smooth chocolate tones.
I would agree with the other reviewers that it could use a bit more complexity and I'd also like a bit more fullness somehow.
I like this as a chocolate stout, but I don't know how many I could drink as it starts to alot like a chocolate syrup beer after one. I still think that I'd try another if given the chance though!

This beer is now sold as "Bornholmer Bryg Choko Stout"...
The colour is black with a tint of brown-red; the liquid is clear. The two finger firm head is pale brown; it sinks slowly down leaving some fine lacing.
The smell is sweet with lots of cocoa milk. There are also some notes of roasted malt. It is a little artificial, I think.
The taste is a little malty at the start, but a milk chocolate/cocoa milk flavour soon emerges. The aftertaste is a bit dry with some bitterness and a growing cocoa flavour.
The sad thing is, the chocolate flavour doesnt taste like a fine bar of chocolate; it is more like a chocolate milkshake or something else with artificial cocoa flavouring.
The carbonation is quite strong with very small bubbles. The liquid is somewhat creamy, but not as creamy as a stout should be.

This one pours dark brown, but settles flat black with a full two finger thick tan head that is slightly bubbly.
Huge and deep cocoa/chocolate aroma. Very one dimensional, but fressh and enticing as hell! Probably one of the best smelling chocolate incorporated beers I have ever smelled. Damn that smells great.
Thinnish toasty fore has a smooth and incredibly deep chocolate flavor. Its pretty one dimensional. Not sure if this has much oat in the grain bill, but I think it could use more/some to creamy/thicken it up some. Still unless you hate chocolate that lingering quality chocolate flavor is impossible to dislike. This reminds me of the Frederick Millers Classic Chocolate Lager except this doesnt suck, its well done. The knock is there isnt ANYTHING else happening here except the chocolate, but they used really good chocolate and they didnt screw up the beery feel of it along the way.
This could have a little more flavor range...a hint of coffee and more soncentrated toasty/roasty flavors, but its still pretty damn good and worthy of praise as a chocolate beer unlike that Miller crud.
