A sweet and pitch-black Baltic Porter with plenty of licorice. The aroma is dominated by English licorice while the taste is reminiscent of sweet licorice.

Copenhagen 25/10 2020. 50 cl bottle from Meny, Bryggervangen, Kbh. Ø. Svaneke's usual design with a label shaped like the island bornholm in dark purple and black.
Pours opaque, dark brown with a medium-sized light beige head. Fairly stable. Settles as thin layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor mingling with roasted notes and hints of spicy licorice. Brown sugar and caramel, Dark roasted malts. Sweet licorice chiming in.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, soft, lightly tinging texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a fairly strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a bit. Licorice finish with a light dry feel.
Quite light for a Baltic porter and more about licorice than alcohol. Better than Matador Mix, not as good as Finnish licorice.
