Copenhagen 7/8 2016. 50 cl bottle from Kvickly. A part of Kvicklys annual competition Kvicklys Ølvalg 2016. It did not win. Maelstrom in black and white on the label making me seasick.
Pours very clear dark reddish dark brown with an off-white head. Stable. Settles as a flimsy layer of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is quite sweet. Caramel, brown sugar and dried fruit. Raisins and toffee.
Medium strong carbonation and slightly thick palate. Lightly tingling, smooth, silken, soft texture.
Flavor is sweet candy and only a very light bitterness. Lingering sweet aftertaste.
A bit one-dimensional in all its sweetness but with soft and gentle palate.
