Not sure what I can add to the previous review over 5 years ago. First and foremost, this bar has been opened for 50+ years. But, this is a dive bar. Smoking inside with shoddy characters and I'm all primed for watching my back. Looks like I went back in time when I enter. Just not a bar I prefer.
And to meet the character limit... We need more beer. I hate living in a low ABV state. More beer... More beer... More beer... More beer... More beer... More beer... More beer!! No bitter beer face!!

Martin's has been a Jackson mainstay for over 50 years. Not much in the way of draught beer, but over 100 selections of bottles (http://www.martinslounge.net/bar_beers.html).
As you may have guessed, the place is OLD. It's nothing fancy, but if you're downtown and want to hear some good live music, and don't mind bottled beer, Martin's is the place to go. Some nights requires a cover charge, but it's only $2 or $3.
Also, it shares a parking lot with Hal and Mal's, WC Don's and a dance club. It's also a few blocks away from Mardi Gras, which features the Voodoo Lounge. If you ever find yourself in Jackson and want to find something going on, you can't go wrong checking this area out. But, I'd recommend a trip to Martin's to either begin or end your evening.
