Can at SLC location. Dark brown pour, one finger beige head. Aroma is simple, straight up roast malts. Taste adds a layer of chocolate to the roasty malts. Unadulterated impy stout. Nice!

what a beast to have in a pint can, a seriously no frills stout here, enormous, well made, and a side of roosters i have not really experienced before now. lots of body to this one, a little sticky sweet too, but its palate coating in a good way, layered with flavor, and about as nuanced as it needs to be, packs a punch and doesnt break the bank either, lots to like here. its got a cool nose, roast forward of course, fresh lighter roast coffee beans to it, not yet brewed, caramel and cola in the middle, hints of molasses and raisin, and a strange but appealing walnut thing right before the alcohol and bitterness set in. it seems minimally hopped to me, only slightly yeasty but not quite english, and without (and without need for) barrels, lactose, vanilla, any of the usual suspects that have slowly turned me off to the style over recent years. huge body, stays on my teeth and tongue awhile, but its not diabetic. notes of good espresso and licorice as it warms a little, a specialty dark malt thing too, good flavors abound, but its also pretty direct, which i like. not something anyone should drink five of, but a pretty cool beer for this format, nicely done!

Pours from 500ml bottle a black but not pitch black, plenty of tan foam, lots of sticky lacing.
Notes of chocolate and roasted malt in the nose. A wee bit fruity.
Roasted malt, chocolate both dark and bitter, and sweet chocolate that takes some edge off the bitterness. No fruit in the taste; a straight "regular" Imperial Stout that is a palate pleaser.
Higher end of medium bodied, respectable carbonation.
It's nice to have another non barrel aged Imperial Stout in town.

From The Brewpub
500ml Bottle
Pours a nice dark brown/black color, nice carbonation, with a nice little fizzy tan head, which leaves some sticky lacing behind. The nose is malty, with some nice chocolate notes, some nice roastyness. The taste is malty, chocolate notes, nutty/roasty. Medium body, ABV hidden pretty good. Overall a tasty brew. Recommended.
