Strawberry Milkshake IPA

i believe this one was done at this roosters location, but i am not positive. someone correct me if i have listed this one wrongly. on tap at slackwater, which impresses me everytime. its a cool beer, hazy and only a little bit pink, looks heavy for a pint, but it doesnt drink like that at all. the aroma doesnt even come close to telling me how good this is going to taste, but i like it anyway, more hops than fruit by a mile, which isnt true later on. its got a mosaic vibe to me, classically fairly high alpha but also with some pineapple fruitiness not from strawberries. the flavor though, right in the center of it, bam!, a huge pop of fresh and real strawberries. i have no doubt that they employ real berries, and a lot of them, on this one. its ripe and distinct, not jammy at all, like the real fruit, but its so perfectly matched to the hops that its unreal, a whole new level in this style for me, its brilliant really. some lacto sort of sweetness later on, and a lot of vanilla in the finish, whether or not these ingredients are actually in the beer. tons of bubbles help make the bigger body and residual sweetness not too much at all, and some hop bitterness keeps it at least adjacent to ipa as a style. a wonderful combination of flavors on this, i was super skeptical, and this is not at all the kind of beer i am used to from these guys, but its excellent. i hope they keep it coming!
