Definitely not meant to be the first beer of the night. Overall good IPA especially if you dislike malty beer.

tons of new hoppy beer from these guys lately it seems, stoked on them for the most part, and this is a cool one, not really a hazy in the classic sense, but not clear either, and definitely not a west coast type as bitterness is restrained in favor of a more tropical, juicy hop profile. at the same time, its got some real sturdy malt in support, short of nutty but definitely in the toasted range, which to me makes it sort of old school, crystal malt in ipa? largely a thing of the past, but, the hops here are super contemporary, so this covers a lot of ground in terms of ipa style, and i quite like it. aroma of mango, sweet orange, honey malt, and ripe pink grapefruit, definitely juicy, a touch sweet, well balanced. the flavor is more tropical than that, with hints of cantaloupe, blood orange, and papaya, summery flavors but the malt makes it kind of fall too, i guess a fun year round flavor profile, and a little different from what else is out there, i like the recipe. the execution is good but not amazing, this could be a tad drier for drinkability i reckon, and i dont mind the grain body here, but it should have more carbonation than it does to keep it drinking. it might be a touch strong for the flavors too, this seem to want to be sessioned but that could get out of hand quick. nice hop complexion here, neat beer overall.
