A brewpub situated in a very mundane-looking old building, with sitting areas right outside the pub. From outside one would suspect whether it is a place with beer taps running unstoppingly, as it looks more like a modern bistro really... Once stepping inside the door way, on the right hand side immediately approaching is the whole array of brewing vessels and beer tanks, separated by a big, clear glass windows and hurrying punters to get inside for a booz. Inside the brewpub a big, oval-shaped, slightly minimalist as well as functionalist-looking bar is right in front of the beer tanks and from there one can choose from 4 regular beers and one special on tap. Beers are all unpasteurised and unfiltered (except for their Pilsner) and served in straight pint or half-pint glasses.

On the left hand side there's a semi-separate non-smoking area for dinning, alongside an open kitchen esp. for home-made pizzas cooked in a wood-firing oven. Further down inside, a larger sitting area is divided into two floors. Sitting on the corner sofa on the ground floor and looking back at the whole, spacious building, I felt sitting in a factory/brewery rather than a pub--meaning that the slightly cold touch of the equipments and the raw and rough infrastruture is blended, or intentionally-kept with the slightly chic style of a modern bistro. Very young and modern-looking brewpub indeed.

The service (both at bar and at table) is speedy and decent, as all young staff and barmen knew exactly how to serve a nice pint, how to treat customers in the most proper and friendly manner. The food is a hit too, as I saw a lot of people poured in maybe drinking wine rather than beers, but all enjoyed their food spanning from European fusion starters, oven-baked house-specialty pizzas (15~20 different kinds?), kilo-weight mussels to pastas. My GF and I had two pizzas and they were much much more delicious than those ina lot of pizzerias in central London (run by Italians even...). Price is not the cheapest in town, but the price performance is undebatable. The only criticism is, after say 8pm the place became rather crowded and high, with club-music turning up, making conversation very difficult... Still, a fantastic place for good beers and quality food, and perhaps this is the only place in London with such high profile (Bunker and Mash are both brewpubs in London, but way behind the league)... Highly recommended!
