Tasted at the Penderel's Oak, a JDW pub in Central London nr. Holborn station. This is yet another offering of Blond Ale or Golden Bitter, what have you...
A: dark straw hued, faintly hazy... with very thin layer of foam. looking o.k. and low carbonated.
S: grapefruity zest and lightly elder-flowery hops upfront, as the serving temp. is slightly warmer than ideal, the aroma is quite restrained. Overall still quite pleasant and simple.
T&M: good body of citrus-zest fruitiness in the foreground on top of a lightly salty maltiness at the back. The flavour gears towards hoppyness but is generally mixed well with the malt profile. Mildly hoppy finish and semi-dry in the end. Soft on the mouthfeel and reasonably refreshing.
D: slightly boring, but can taste much better and cleaner when served at a lower temp. like 12 Centigrade, not 17-8C like this pint...
