Benno is a crisp & refreshing craft lager named after the Bavarian 'father' of modern brewing, Benno Scharl (1741-1812) who is credited with the first use of the term "Lagering": a process of cool fermentation followed by a period of maturation in cold storage. You're welcome... Prost!

330ml Can from Aldi, £1.39:
Quite a fresh beer that had some nice grassy hops & touches of straw kicking things off before some lemon started to appear nearer the middle. It was dry & crisp with good carbonation levels & a sharp finish that made for quite an enjoyable & sessionable lager that I'd happily have again.

Can, Aldi. Brewed exclusively for Aldi.
Pours pale straw, slight haze. Rocky head.
Some floral hoppyness, sweet cereal nose
More flavour bit similar, nice malt flavours, light. A decent bitterness to it initially. Slightly chalky finish.
More in line with trad lagers rather than a hopped up modern one. .
