Pours a ruby brown, thin head formation but wispy lacing left behind. Nose is fruit punch, raspberry, pomegranate juice, subtle note of waxy black licorice. Taste is tart raspberry up front followed by a waxy, coating licorice note, almost like drinking a candle. Feel is thin initially before the licorice coats the mouth. This works from a flavor standpoint, but the feel lets it down. Still, far superior to their other licorice beers in which the waxiness is taken to a another level.

11.2oz bottle. Dated.
Brown-red, some chunks on the bottom. Smells bready with a little licorice in the nose. Very sweet and thick and tastes a little wine-y as it opens into the fruit, with a bready savory finish, and weird buttery licorice (!) aftertaste. So it's sour with a licorice aftertaste - that alone makes it very interesting *and* seriously weird. And that's not to mention the rest of the weirdness above
I like odd distinctive beers, and this one is one of the oddest and most-distinct I've had in a minute

Ruddy orange beer, basically opaque with some darker sediment and particulate matter in it... Smells and tastes like sour raspberries with an undercurrent of strawberry, and a subtle licorice finish for depth and complexity... Puckering up front, lightly salty like a gose, with a berry sweetness filling it out... Smooth and medium-light-bodied - pretty good stuff - if you like the ingredient profile, you'll certainly like the beer...

It's not just a mechanism for relaxation, it's an education. Showing the candied licorice side of Gose, Dugges takes the memory of movie candy snacks and infuses it into a German-styled sour, salty wheat beer. What could possibly go wrong?
Ruby mauve and topped with a delicate and loose froth, Fifty Fifty borrows its name from those notorious candies but borrows its scent form pink lemonade as a twinge of cider, wine, raspberries and lime tease the nose with a fruity melange of perfumes. Moderately sweet for sour ale, the malty taste of saltwater taffy and sourdough greet the early palate with softness.
Searching hard for the licorice, the beer decides to favor the raspberry flavors far above the polarizing spice. Relegated to a softer fennel character, the taste of licorice is mild and buried underneath lime, lemon, green apple, passionfruit sourness and made aware only by the tepid salinity of the beer's saltiness.
Medium bodied and laying firmly against the tongue after the carbonation has rendered out, the bready sourness is outlasted only by the remnants of berry and a brief echo of peppery fennel once more.

I don't see a bottle or import date listed.
Appearance: The body is opaque and dark puple-red with a brown tint to it. It is mostly opaque. The head is short and off-white with a slight pinkish hue. It fades out to a fluffy ring. No retention.
Aroma: There is a soft cream of wheat aroma with a light scent of raspberries.
Taste: The beer has a light tart raspberry flavor.
Mouthfeel: The beer is a bit tart with a light saltiness that forms around the lips while drinking. It is light bodied and smooth. Very drinkable.
Overall: The label says this is a "Sour Ale Brewed With Raspberries, Licorice and Salt." While there was an obvious raspberry flavor there wasn't even a hint of licorice. The beer is nice but it doesn't seem to be quite what the brewer has intended for it to be. I would still drink it again and recommend it to those who love raspberries.
