Served in a tent glass from the bottle.
Appearance: Semi thick dark black coffee colored body coming off with a tan head which initially rose half of one fingers length off the body.
Smell: whiskey notes hitting the nose very strong. Aromatic molasses and vanilla extract.
Taste: Complex body with a whiskey finish consisting of cacao nibs and stronger hints of espresso. Liquor is mellow and coming off s touch sweet.
Mouth: Sticky body with a soft carbonation. A bit boozy feel at the end but subtle all at once.
Overall: Great grab. A bit pricey considering what else you could get but definitely a quality brew.

This beer is a lot of everything. Pours dark brown/black with a thin tan head. Aroma is sweet with roasted notes and a touch of fruity. Taste is an big wave of bourbon, licorice and deep roasted malts. Each sip reveals more variety. Feel is good for 14% smooth and only mild burn. Overall, wow, what an experience.

Bourbon barrel licorice stout, 11.2% abv and absolutely delicious - assuming you like the combination of licorice and bourbon in a full-bodied chocolaty stout oozing with molasses and medicine... Totally diggin' it...

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: Pours deep brown and completely opaque, with a small tan head.
Smell: Distinctive and kind of hard to place, like burnt toffee or something. Sweetish but also a bit spicy from the licorice. Oak barrel.
Taste: Robust flavor but not overpowering. Strong roasted barley -- very dark roast, but not ashy. Licorice does not overwhelm. Bourbon barrel adds nice complexity. Alcohol very well hidden on the palate, though it warms on the way down. On the bitter end of the spectrum.
Feel: Medium-bodied and very smooth, with light carb. Surprisingly soft finish.
