17˚Plato, 7.5% abv
Notes: VERY GOOD. Hazy, almost cloudy dark amber w/ orange highlights. Massive white head. Very good head retention; excellent lacing. Spice over dull dark maltiness in the nose. Flavor: Spice, far from overdone. Malty, fruity, sweet but not cloying (cut by alcohol?). Juicy apple, red berry, some dark fruit. Median-firm bitterness. Dry finish despite sweet malt. Medium bodied. Almost creamy, but still gently bristling on the palate. Interesting "Christmas" beer. Really nicely balanced with spice taking a far backseat.
