I had this beer today on-tap in a dimpled mug at the brewery in Prague.
Appearance: pale golden hue with a little bit of haze and a thick head of creamy ivory foam. Beauty, eh?
Smell: plenty of yeasty aroma with a little bit of fruitiness. The malt is bready and soft. Good stuff.
Taste: moderately sweet malt with more of that yeasty breadiness. Bitterness is not quite as high as a pilsner, but it’s definitely present. A solid pale lager.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a good, well-integrated carbonation and a very nice creaminess.
Overall: this is a good example of a Czech pale lager; it’s maybe a little bit more bitter than other examples of the style, but I don’t think that hurts it at all.

Again a great svetly lezák (pale lager) in Praha! Had this at the U Medvídkú in the brewery itself. Looks great, smells nice, the taste and the whole feel is very pleasant, smooth and extremely drinkable. They say it is "strong bitter" and yes there is a slight hoppy bitterness in the aftertaste that lingers on but it is overwhelmed by the welcoming feeling of this beer. Very well balanced and great to drink, perhaps in the same vein of Krakonos or the local pale lager of the Pivovarsky Dum brewery. Great pilsner of Prague! Great experience having it on tap at the brewery! 100% recommend this, forget about Pilsner Urquell!

Minipivovar U Medvídků "U Medvidku 1466"
on tap @ Minipivovar U Medvídků, ,5l for 50-Kč
Notes: Hazy deep gold body beneath a frothy khaki head that holds quite well and leaves impressive lacing. Aroma: Yeasty, grainy malt, some phenolics (maybe just a bad batch?), lightly herbal and grassy hops. Flavor: Full, sweet malt anchored by a strong bitterness. Dry finish with lingering herbal, grassy, and spicy hops. Medium bodied and crisp.

On tap into a dimpled beer mug
A - Beer came out to me with a moderately tan head that was a bit frothy and slightly creamy in appearance and dissipate very slowly with a nice retention of lacing by the end. Beer was a bit hazy and golden amber in color with some carbonation visible which was rising at a moderate pace towards the top. 4/5
S - Aroma is a balanced combination of light malt and hops with a slightly sweet cereal malt in the forefront and a clean, grassy hop note in the background. Also a bit yeasty throughout the nose, especially as the beer warmed. 4/5
T - Light malty sweetness up front with a bit of white bread and yeast. A bit of Grap-Nut O's and cereal also comes out for me. This transitions to grassy and herbal hops in the second half of the taste which showcases a lingering bitterness on the back end but not overwhelmingly so. Ever so slight spiciness such as coriander seems to be present as well. 4/5
M - Smooth but also light and crisp at the same time. Light to medium bodied beer that is easily sessionable. Amount of hops keeps this nice and light on the palate with a lingering dryness. Moderate carbonation tickle but not really a burn is presented, especially in the forefront of the tongue. 4/5
O - Love coming to nano/micro breweries such as this where the brewers keep the old ways of doing things alive. This really allowed the yeast to make its presence known in this beer and really bring out some great flavor, along with the hops and lighter malt used. More yeasty than most pale lagers that I have had but a very good beer nonetheless. 4/5
