Virpazar 3/8 2015. 1,5 liter jug from the local supermarket. Label with a braying stag tries to convince me that this is a manly beer.
Pours clear yellow with a white head. Stable. Settles as a 0,3 cm layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is of sweet pale malts and a little murky. Is there a little wet cardboard in there?
Medium strong carbonation. Lively texture.
Flavor is sweetish, grainy and malty and with a strange aftertaste which is sweet and sour at the same time. When you burp afterwards you get to enjoy the sourness once again.
I do not know if this is a manly beer - then again I do not know if I am man enough for 1,5 liter of this.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a tiny head. Smells of sweet grain, inviting. Tastes of sweet grain, nice and full. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a good beer.

Poured from 500mL can into a stemless wine tumbler. Date on the can is 5/25/23 … whoo! So it’s 16 months old … or 16 months past it’s best-by date. Whatever, it’s canned megalager from the corner store.
Appearance: medium golden hue with a clear body, a good effervescence, anda. finger of frothy eggshell foam atop. I mean, I don’t know what else you want out of a Euro pale lager.
Smell: slightly sweet, slightly malty, slightly corny … what can I say, it’s fine. It’s not gross and there are no weird off aromas here.
Taste: a bit yeasty and a bit … bland. Maybe a little metallic. Okay, I wouldn’t call it the best thing out there, even the best mega lager. But I have had worse.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a moderate carbonation and a nice fizziness.
Overall: I mean, I’m not coming back to this particular well. This beer is not particularly good. But, again, I have had worse!

Nicked out of the Old Man's fridge in November 2023. Drunk in February 2024.
L: Crystal clear, bright gold in the glass, with a bubbly white head and lots of large-bubbled carbonation flying up the glass.
S: Sweet malt, dried grass.
T: Slightly burnt malt with earthy, woody hops. It is not at all as sweet as the nose portended.
M: Medium body, with medium carbonation. Carbonic prickle is high.
O: Upon sniffing this after the pour, I was expecting a generic, sweet, Euro lager, but the bitter, burnt character of the malt and the relatively high bite in the mouth made this more enjoyable than expected.
Cheers!

I drink this beer sometimes at my local Serb restaurant, and maybe it's the location that makes me favor it. Overall I find it a pleasant, drinkable brew that is well balanced and goes down easily. There is a slight bitter note after swallowing, sort of similar to an ale but not as hoppy.
I recently found it at a market which carries a lot of Eastern European beers and brandies. $2.50 for a 16 oz bottle so it's easy on the wallet. It would be even better on draft I'm sure but not available in my area.

This beer got bad rating but I liked it. Classic Eastern European taste, a bit bitter in aftertaste but I thought very good.
