Poured into a pint glass. Not opaque but a dark brown color with a tan head. Huge fresh coffee aroma along with faint chocolate and roasted grain notes. Taste was less coffee forward and I liked the balance. Fresh coffee with fruity elements and no green pepper. Medium bodied and it seemed lighter than a 9% beer. Very nice.

From a 22oz bottle bought on St John and returned home with this week
ABV: 9%
IBU: 40
OG: 1.087
Part of the VI Massive series
Pours a dark brown almost black color with a decent sized light tan head, fades a bit quickly with very little lacing on the glass.
Smell has a decent roasted malt presence, picking up notes of coffee and chocolate, stronger aspects of dark fruit hit the nose and make things a bit more interesting.
Taste starts out with a roasted malt backing, coffee presence is a bit lighter than the aroma but still evident, a dark fruit sweetness hits the aftertaste to add some complexity, carbonation is medium-low with a bit of stickiness in the mouth, strength is well hidden.
